Project meeting in Alicante
CO-VALUE Project Partners Visit Alicante to Advance Knowledge Valorisation
At the end February, the Alicante Science Park (PCA) welcomed all CO-VALUE project partners from ART-ER and Fondazione Giannino Bassetti (Italy) and Stickydot (Belgium) to Alicante. The visit marked a key milestone in our shared journey to develop and scale new models of citizen-centred knowledge valorisation across Europe.
The agenda included the presentation of the results of our recent pilot call, which will soon be implemented in the Alicante region. These pilots reflect our commitment to co-creation, with selected projects integrating citizen input to tackle challengesin the circular economy and emerging technologies.
The visit also created a space for dialogue between the Alicante and Emilia-Romagna ecosystems, enabling the exchange of best practices and identifying areas for cross-regional collaboration. Together, partners refined methodologies for experimentation that will be applied in both territories.
This face-to-face meeting in Alicante sets the stage for deeper collaboration and mutual learning, supporting CO-VALUE’s mission to foster inclusive and effective pathways for knowledge co-valorisation throughout Europe.
CO-VALUE at Alicante Science Park. Experimentation starting
Earlier this year, the Alicante Science Park (PCA) hosted a series of strategic meetings for the CO-VALUE project, reaffirming its role as a hub for innovation and societal engagement.
The event brought together European partners, local institutions such as the University of Alicante and ImpulsAlicante, and leading companies of the PCA’s ecosystem including InferIA, Fych Technologies, Solublion, WEITEC, and Golden Owl, alongside Aguas de Alicante and EGM Atalayas, who will participate on the experimentation pilots in Alicante.
Over several days, stakeholders shared their experiences and laid the foundation for pilot projects focused on circular economy and data management. They also introduced forward-thinking approaches to knowledge co-valorization, highlighting the importance of inclusive collaboration, ethical responsibility, and active citizen involvement in the research and innovation process.
The event not only strengthened cross-sector partnerships but also showcased PCA’s commitment to transforming research into real-world impact. As Esteban Pelayo, PCA’s manager, emphasized: “Collaboration between researchers, companies, and citizens is key to generating a real and sustainable impact.”
